Invisible Armor Polish
July 16, 2026
Wondrous, common
This waxy polish is used to turn a suit of armor invisible. A jar of Invisible Armor Polish has enough to fully coat 1 set of armor and takes 1 hour to apply. Once applied, the armor becomes invisible. The polish stifles noise produced from the armor, and if the armor normally grants disadvantage to stealth, it removes the disadvantage. Physical inspection will immediately reveal that the armor is there. Spells and abilities that see through invisibility will allow a creature to see the armor.
The armor is only invisible, it does not turn the wearer invisible.
The polish is effectively permanent, but it is at the DM’s discretion if different circumstances damage or remove the coating. For example, acid or lava may damage the coating enough to render it ineffective. Typical strikes against the armor do not remove the coating. The polish can be manually removed by spending a day to scrub the coating off (or hiring someone else to do it).
DM Note
This item is meant to be more of a flavor item, but you could easily have the coating grant resistance to fire damage or another type. Maybe fire repairs the coating if it gets damaged?
